January Newsletter

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
-Isaiah 1:18

Delays and Cancellations
We would like to remind you that you can find out if there is a delayed opening, early dismissal, or cancellation on WDAC (94:5 FM) or WEEU (830 AM). You can also log on to wfmz.com and click on the school closings link. We will also send out a message around 6:00 am from One Call Now.

Re-enrollment
The time to re-enroll students at FCS is fast approaching. Re-enrollment forms will be sent home at the end of January. We will need the forms returned as soon as possible. You will need to be current with your balance to re-enroll.
If you have a child entering kindergarten next fall, please call the office by January 16.

Basketball Games
Everyone is invited to come and support the Fairview Falcons basketball team. Check out the January calendar for game details.

FCS Website
Remember to check out our website for game schedules, lunch menus, and other details.

Parent-Teacher Conferences – January 19
You will be receiving a call from the office in January to schedule your conference. We will be running these from 7:00 am through 9:00 pm. We would like to have all parents included in this meeting with your child’s teacher. If you have a flexible schedule and can come during the day, please take the opportunity so others can come in the evening.

Trash-A-Thon
Thanks so much for all your hard work in the trash-a-thon. We were able to raise $17,531. This will greatly aid the student activity fund and help to keep your tuition down. We are already looking forward to next year. Plan to be a part of it!

Just One Request
Dear Master, for this coming year
Just one request I bring:
I do not pray for happiness,
Or any earthly thing—
I do not ask to understand
The way Thou leadest me,
But this I ask: Teach me to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.

I want to know Thy guiding voice,
To walk with Thee each day.
Dear Master, make me swift to hear
And ready to obey.
And thus the year I now begin
A happy year will be—
If I am seeking just to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.

If Jesus Came To Your House
If Jesus came to your house to spend a day or two,
If He should show up unannounced, I wonder what you’d do?
Would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in,
Or hide some books and put the Bible where they’d been?
Would you be glad to have Him meet your very closest friends,
Or would you hope they stay away until His visit ends?
Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on,
Or would you sigh with great relief when He at last was gone?
It might be interesting to know the things that you would do,
If Jesus came in person to spend some time with you.

An arm of aid to the weak,
A friendly hand to the helpless,
Kind words so short to speak,
But their echo may be endless;
The world is wide
And these things are small
They may be nothing …
But they are all.

Writing Your Story
No matter what else you are doing –
From cradle days through to the end
You’re writing your life’s secret story;
Each day sees another page penned.

Each month ends a thirty-page chapter,
Each year means the end of a part,
And never an act is misstated,
Nor every a wish from the heart.

Each day when you wake the book opens
Revealing a page clean and white.
What thoughts and what words and what actions
Will cover its surface by night?

God leaves that to you – you’re the writer,
And never one word shall grow dim
‘Til some day you write the word “finis,”
And give back your life book to Him.
