Andrea Fox writes to the Fairview Church Family …

Hello from the prairie hills of South Dakota. I’m not sure if I should say “the sunny prairie” or “the snowy prairie,” since we had 75 degree weather and 6 inches of snow, all within two days of each other. Even though some days it feels like we’re out in the middle of nowhere, somehow life is always quite busy and rewarding. :) We just recently started Ladies Bible Study again for this year, and so far it’s been going really good. The other night I got a phone call from a lady who needed to call the cops on her drunk brother. It turned out that she came to Bible Study while she waited for her brother to get picked up. It was neat to see God take a terrible situation, and turn it into something good. My prayer is that the ladies would really take to heart what they’re hearing about God’s love and forgiveness.

The newest addition to my week’s schedule is The Coffee Shop. Rose Burkholder, one of the girls I live with, had the dream of starting a Coffee Shop, and just a few weeks ago, it became a reality. This is something that I am really excited about. It’s been so good to just hang out with the youth, ladies, and different community people who might stop by for a latte, coffee, or hot chocolate. The goal is to eventually have some of the teen girls work there and learn how to work at a good job. School keeps me busy during the day, and girls’ club, which happens 4 times a week, keeps me busy in the evenings. During the one night of Clubs, we were taking prayer requests and the one girl said, “Pray for my mom, and pray that I could ask Jesus into my heart.” Her name is Nivey. Her family is very much into the traditional Indian religion, so please pray that as they watch their daughter, the family would also be turned towards God.

Thank-you to all of you who cheer up my days with emails and notes of encouragement, but thank-you most of all for lifting me up in prayer! It is only through Him that lives can be changed. May God receive all the honor, glory, and praise that He absolutely deserves.

God Bless each of you,  Andrea Fox
