Guidelines

1. Ask permission to go on the street.
2. Keep offices neat and free of coats, lunches, etc.
3. No griping, complaining, or name calling.
4. No talking in the building after bell rings in the morning, after break, or after lunch.
5. Material posted on the bulletin boards  in offices by the supervisor is not to be removed or covered with anything else without the supervisor’s permission.
6. All students must leave the school promptly following the 3:00 p.m. dismissal bell.
7. Detentions will be served at lunch break or after school.
8. If memory work is not said by the end of the month, it will be treated as an incomplete goal.
9. Detentions may affect eligibility for field trips.
10. Throwing snow, other than in an organized activity supervised by staff, may result in a detention.
11. No running in the buildings.

The following violations will result in disciplinary action by the supervisor:

  • Not marking wrong answers wrong
  • Gum on school grounds
  • Talking in the Learning Center
  • Changing goals
  • Scoring with an empty blank
  • Passing notes
  • Disturbing another student
  • Talking back
  • Out of seat without permission
  • Turning around in office
  • Self-tests not signed
  • Defacing PACEs

PROPERTY
Marked on, defaced, or broken property is to be replaced at the offending student’s expense.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
It is our policy that no student be excused from the required Physical Education course without a doctor’s written excuse or an obvious temporary condition that inhibits participation.

P.E. EQUIPMENT

When a student checks out physical education equipment, they are responsible to return it or pay for it.

TELEPHONE USE
Students may use the school phone for important calls only after asking permission of staff.  Cell phones must be kept in the lockers during school hours.  They must be turned off and used only after receiving their supervisor’s permission.  Violation of this rule may result in the confiscation of the student’s phone.  It will be returned at the discretion of the supervisor and administration.

CLOSED CAMPUS POLICY
Students may not leave the school grounds during school hours without permission. Students who drive must leave their cars parked at school until dismissal unless permission is given by staff.  Any student that leaves early must bring in a note from the parents.  For all  school activities, students should not transport other students without parental consent and the supervisor’s permission.

MEDICAL GUIDELINES
No staff member will be allowed to administer any medicines, tranquilizers, aspirin, Tylenol, or pep pills to any student for headaches, fever, or other reasons without parental authorization in writing. All medicines must be kept in the office and administered by the secretary or other staff member. In instances where a student needs medical attention, a staff member will call the parent or family doctor (in that order).

FIRE DRILLS
At the sound of the fire bell, students are to stand and walk out of the building in an orderly manner to a designated place. Students are expected to return to the Learning Center in the same orderly manner as they exited. A practice fire drill will be held each month during the school year.

LIABILITY
Fairview Christian School will not be held liable for any injury to your child that occurs at school, while participating in any sports activities, or during any other school activity away from the school premises.
