Students in grades 6 -12 are given the opportunity to participate in MACSA Bible Quizzing. Bible quizzing is a sport in which two teams match knowledge, speed, memory, and quickness of response against one another on a designated portion of Scripture. Teams from many schools throughout the region come together for quiz-a-thons throughout the quizzing season.
Quizzing offers much more than just competition and sport. Dr. Rick Horne, the founder of MACSA Bible Quizzing, made the following statement : “Bible Quizzing is not an end in itself, but merely a means to an end”. He went on to explain that the end goal is to motivate students to memorize scripture. A child who quizzes from grades 6 – 12 will have memorized or thoroughly studied approximately 60 chapters of the Bible! We believe this equips students for future fruitful ministry for the Lord. The program involves falling deeply in love with the Word of God. By becoming involved in memorization, young people develop a love and respect for the Bible. The Word is planted in their hearts and dynamically changes their lives.
